18 Months Old!!!

Maddy is 18 months old! This month has focused on our return to a two working parent household. I went back to school on August 14th and until Daddy gets some down time in October Maddy heads off to Grandma's everyday. She loves going though and often can't get Daddy out the door fast enough in the morning to see mamu(Grandma) and Gogan(Logan). All the time apart has turned her into somewhat of a Mommy's girl. I did refer to myself as Mommy this month because Maddy just recently went from calling me Momma to Mommy. Usually it's MY Mommy. This new word has been an unfortunate favorite this month. Most sentences go something like this "No My ... you can insert any word there, she pretty much considers everything hers. It can sometimes be very cute though. Sometimes when Daddy comes home she yells "Hi my Daddy!"

Maddy had also started singing up a storm. She often makes Daddy sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" in the car to Grandma's house. Maddy's version goes like this "pinkle, pinkle star up above sky like a sky". She also loves Old McDonald. Her version "EIEIO MOO" and of course various other animals sounds. Her newest favorite is the alphabet song. Daddy and I crack up when she sings the ending "now my no uh EEEs". Yes, that translates to "Now I know my ABCs". Since the melody is exactly the same as Twinkle she usually then goes right into "pinkle, pinkle". It's a vicious cycle. Don't even get me started on her dancing!

Other little exciting tidbits:
-Maddy FINALLY got her last two molars.
-Maddy has learned to jump. Well she actually looks like a horse scratching his hoof into the ground but she proudly yells "jump" and does it over and over.
-Maddy knows all of her body parts and loves to find them on all of her toys, Nola, the cats and anyone who will let her look.
-She has really gotten into taking turns. She will do something and then will say "Daddy's turn, Mommy's turn or, sadly for the dog, Nola's turn". However if she is in the middle of something and you come to help she will quickly say "No my turn!".

We just fall more in love with our little miracle everyday. She never ceases to amaze us with her outgoing and often stubborn personality. At night she gives us each a squeeze (hug) and a kiss and then pats her heart and says "love you" as we put her to bed! Well Maddy, pat our hearts, we love you too!
