Our baby boy turned one month old today! It's hard to imagine where the time has gone but it also feels like he has always been a part of our family! Brian and I are getting used to the night time wake ups again...which is a little tough when it's been years. Luckily Miles only wakes up to eat and then goes right back to sleep. He does not like to sleep laying down flat though so he is currently sleeping in a Fisher Price Rock and Play next to our bed at night. During the day he either sleeps in his swing, bouncy chair or our arms.
He is nursing well and growing like a weed. When we left the hospital his weight was down to 6lb 13oz and at his 2 week check up he was up to 8lbs. His jaundice is gone and his little eyes have almost completely turned back white. His head of hair has thinned and lightened up a bit but the majority if it is staying put. His eyes are still baby grey/blue and we are curious to see if he gets beautiful blue like Mady or green like mommy and daddy.
Madylin is truly in love with her little brother. We really worried about how Mady would adjust but I think either we prepared her or were just overly worried. She doesn't love when he cries but she deals with it well. She loves to hold him and talk to him and show him his toys. She has even helped change a diaper and is in charge of putting his binky in if he spits it out. That job keeps her pretty busy because he is not in love with the binky like she was and doesn't even take it at night.
All in all our little family is adjusting well to our newest addition. He reminds us of Mady at times but is certainly his own person. We love him desperately and feel truly blessed to have him!
