Pajama Day

Today was the highly anticipated Pajama Day at preschool! Mady has been super excited and woke up at 6am stumbling down the hallway ready to change into her pajamas for school She was antsy and couldn't wait until we finally left at 8:20. When we arrived at preschool all her friends were excited too! They are making pancakes and telling stories. Preschool is SO fun!!! Mady is excited to start kindergarten in the fall but we are going to miss her preschool so much. They have had such a positive influence our little girl and we couldn't love them more.

Miles is Two Months Old

Time has snuck by and our little boy is another month older. He is really growing fast! My favorite part of this month is his smile! That little smile can make the 1:30am feeding not quite so bad. I will do just about anything to coax one out. Mady gets them without even trying and he listens to her and follows her voice. The other day I was strapping him into his car seat and Mady started talking to him and a huge smile filled his face and Mady said "He really does love me mom!" That totally melted my heart.

This month Miles has started to space his feedings to about every 3 hours. I can pretty much count on a good 2-3 hour morning nap (in his swing or in the car running errands) and he calls it a night between 8 and 9 pm.

We are loving every minute with our little man!

8 week check up

Miles went in for his 8 week check up today. I was excited to see how much he had grown. His newborn sleepers no longer fit and he is filling his swing more. I told Brian that I guessed he was around 10lbs...you can imagine my surprise when she told me he weighed 12lbs 8oz. What a whopper:) He was 23 1/4 inches long. I was curious what Mady was weighing and measuring at her 8 week check up...11lbs and 23 1/2inches. I chatted with the Dr and asked about the constant moaning and grunting and he assured me that it is pretty common for babies and unless he is in pain it's ok. We talked a bit more about his development and when he got a clean bill the nurse came in to give him his shots. I can honestly say hearing your child scream after shots is one of the worst things ever! Once I got Miles calmed down...he whimpered, quivered his little lip and started all over again. Luckily he fell asleep once I put him in his car seat. P.S. Until a few days ago we thought we were going to have a baby that didn't spit up all the time...unlike Mady...we apparently called that to quickly because he is a huge spitter:?
