Big Girl Elmo Bed
Well we have been tossing around the idea of moving Mad to a big bed since the guide states that at 35 inches they should be moved. We put it off because Mad had not really shown interest in getting out. The other day we went in to get her up from nap and her entire right leg was over the side. So rather than take the chance that she get s out and lands on her head we opted for a toddler bed.
Maddy really enjoyed helping Daddy put it together and was SO excited to see Elmo on her bed. She went to sleep in it like a champ and slept all night. We were excited but waiting to see what nap time would hold. Well luckily our little miss went right to sleep and stayed asleep her whole nap time. We haven't moved the crib out yet , just in case!

Birthday Cake Take One
This year for Maddy's birthday I decided to make her cake myself. I place full blame on those crafty talented moms, you know who you are (Laura, Sara, Stac)! I figured if they could do it so could I.
I have had all the ingredients for weeks and finally decided I better do a test run. Brian and I mixed the icing colors just the way we wanted them. We baked the cake and cut it according to our plan. I iced and iced.
After all was said and done it looked great! I am so excited that it worked. I know you didn't expect me to post the finished project and ruin the birthday surprise!

ZOOmation Station
This morning we braved the cold and headed to the Zoo. I had received information about a new discovery room that had opened and I thought we had better check it out. The room is free to enter but you have to get passes for the time you want to enter. Once you enter you can stay in the room for up to 45 minutes.
Maddy was a little overwhelmed at first and wasn't sure where to start. We headed over to the moon sand table. She played happily there for awhile. Daddy found a really neat rocking board and tried to help Maddy figure it out but Maddy wasn't sure she liked that. We also enjoyed playing in the water table and the dress up center.
In the center of the room is a huge carpet with fake tress, logs etc and drawers and drawers full of animals. Maddy had a great time building a fence for her cow, alligator, snakes and monkeys. We highly recommend checking out this fun room. If you go give us a call and we'll come too!

Happy Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone we love. Maddy and I spent most of the morning painting valentines for Mima and Papa Steve, Grandma Katie and Papa Bob and Grandpa Roger and Grandma Deb-a-Deb.
After a wash up and a nap we headed out to deliver our little treasures!
Happy Valentine's Day! We love you!!

Logan Comes to Play
Mima had the day off so Logan got to come play at our house today. After eating breakfast Brian took the kids to a Valentine's playgroup at school and then met up with me for lunch.
After naps and I got home from work we decided to take them outside to burn off some energy. Maddy loved pulling Logan around on her bike! We love when Logan comes to play.

23 months old!
Mad turned 23 months old today! Our bald baby of yesterday has suddenly transformed into a little girl with bouncy pig tails. This month Maddy has continued to expand her large vocabulary and can actually be quite sassy when she wants. She has been known to say "you no say that to me" or "no talk to me". Brian and I often find ourselves hiding our grins because the idea that someone weighing 30 pounds and standing a little over three feet thinks she is big stuff is to much. I should note that she is also pretty funny and has started fake laughing.
Maddy has also been experimenting with the potty more. She will almost always go when she sits on it but doesn't get the idea of going when you feel the need.
Maddy's imagination has really grown too! We often stand outside her door in the morning and listen to her talking to her Daggy Dog. The other morning she was asking him "where Diego go?" Then there would be a pause and "Oh no he is stuck in the hole in my floor. We need to help him. Pull, pull, pull!" She also enjoys making banana and grape soup in her kitchen and taking her babies to Target or the Zoo.
I guess this is our last "monthly" post! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. Happy 23 months Maddy!
