Maddy's First Field Trip

Maddy got to go on her first preschool field trip today! It was exciting for me as a mommy too:) We met her preschool class at Braeutigam Orchard. The tour started out with the kids getting to feed corn to the cows. Maddy was really brave and held the corn kernels in her hand but as soon as the cow's huge tongue came out she dropped it and backed up. The farmer was nice and gave the kids corn leaves instead. Next came the tractor ride to the pumpkin patch. Maddy walked and walked and walked and walked through I'm sure it was the entire patch. She finally settled on a pumpkin that she liked and we bagged it and headed back to the tractor. When we got back to the farm the kids got to feed goats, check out two huge stinky hogs, chase the chickens back into the barn and play in the kids area. Maddy especially enjoyed the fake barn and chickens that you collected eggs from and the pretend garden planting vegetables. Before heading home we stopped in the store to try an apple cider slushy. Yummy! It was so great to be on the mommy side of a field trip for a change:)
